Today the pups got their first bath in a month. Before they got a dose of ProMeris to control the mange mites, they were bathed every third day. ProMeris is a topical medication, though, and their only allowed one bath, without soap, between treatments. They have a treatment coming up on Tuesday, so we thought today would be a good time to bath them. We used a special soapless shampoo. This is Daisy in the tub:
After their baths Harriett cleaned their ears. Donald loves having his ears rubbed.
Donald and Daisy are being weaned away from the wraps and splints. Their legs are looking pretty good three days into the transition.
Daisy play pounced me when I tried to take her picture as she was climbing on the couch. You have to be quick with these guys!
After a little post-bath playtime the pups had a nap. Here’s Pluto…
Daisy…
and Donald…
The yard is still a bit wet from all the rain we had last week, but it was really nice out today. When the pups woke up from their naps we let them all go out to play without their wraps and splints.
Donald watches as Daisy chases Pluto (with the collar).
Donald stood still just long enough for me to grab a portrait.
Notice the position of his carpal (“wrist”) joints! They were almost on the ground when we started the wrapping six weeks ago.
