This week I want to mention a dog from the Champaign County Humane Society that’s currently living in another foster home. Here’s what her foster mom, Allison, told us about her:
Her name is S'moresie, she is about a year and a half old, and she is a pit bull/boxer mix. She's only about 40 pounds though.
She was relinquished with Ralph, a long-haired dachshund, by an older woman that couldn't take care of them anymore. Ralph was adopted a week or so ago. S'moresie was very scared when she was at the shelter, but was always very sweet whenever you'd go into her cage.
I decided to foster her and she has totally opened up. She's good in the car, she's good with cats and kids, and she absolutely LOVES other dogs. She can be a little timid around new people, more so men than women, but she warms up quickly.
She can be very playful but also very laid-back and cuddly. She is not at all crate-trained, but this hasn't been a problem. I've been able to let her have free reign of my apartment at night and while I'm gone, and she hasn't touched anything in my apartment besides her own toys. She's just a very sweet and loving dog! I would love to find her a home with another dog, but any good home would be great of course!
The Shelter’s been slammed with dogs that were brought in just before the holidays. More than 40 were relinquished the week before Christmas. S’moresie, like some of the others, are in foster care because space is limited and they need a little extra TLC.
If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in S’moresie and want more information about her, call the Shelter and ask to speak with Allison or Michelle. They can fill you in on the details and arrange a meeting.
AND.... I love her. She is adorable. Look at how cute her ears are. S'moresie, how I WISH with all my heart I could adopt you and give you a perfect forever home.
ReplyDeleteBUT... gotta get a job first. :(
Many, many hugs, chin scratches and belly rubs to S'moresie. <3
